Q&A: What do you think of Harry Reid comparing Health Care to Slavery?

Question by Pelosi’s Water Boy: What do you think of Harry Reid comparing Health Care to Slavery?
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took his GOP-blasting rhetoric to a new level Monday, comparing Republicans who oppose health care reform to lawmakers who clung to the institution of slavery more than a century ago.

The Nevada Democrat, in a sweeping set of accusations on the Senate floor, also compared health care foes to those who opposed women’s suffrage and the civil rights movement — even though it was Sen. Strom Thurmond, then a Democrat, who unsuccessfully tried to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and it was Republicans who led the charge against slavery.

    Harry Reid has no brain.

It’s comical. Using opposition to civil rights, abolishing slavery and womens sufferage, he kept repeating the phrase “not so fast”. Never mind that it was Democrats who opposed civil rights and opposed abolishing slavery. They were the ones saying “not so fast”.

So given this logic, any proposed bill by congress or the senate (that Democrats think is good of course) should just be passed without question?

Harry “the body odor” Reid represents liberals well.

Mr. Reid simply exposed his ever more desperate and idiotic thought process. (or lack thereof)

And he keeps crying about how the poor people desperately need this reform, yet he’s going to wait up to four years to implement any benefits.

It’s called “Hide the ten year cost.”

I guess politics and making this fiasco look cheaper is more important than helping the poor people.

i think it’s sad that the party that led the charge AGAINST slavery has become, in 150 short years, the party that would reinstitute it if they could.

face THIS fact: the same folks who staff phone banks and stuff envelopes for the GOP today are the some ones who believe in the Curse of Ham. today’s republicans can’t even be convinced that the earth orbits the sun much less in the equality of “the lesser races”.

Dimwits were against Health Care when the GOP attempted Health Care Reform…nothing ever changes, it is the same old B.S. year after year with all those infected long-term serving idiots in Congress on all sides of the aisle the worse are the Progressives (the Pretenders).

The “slavery” involved in the socialist medicine proposals consists of making law abiding, healthy taxpayers slaves to the lifestyle choices of fat people, drunks, junkies, tramps, smokers, baby factories, their bastards and illegals. No one in any of these groups has any “right” to demand that the federal government force anyone else to pay their health care costs. Everyone should be held responsible for the consequences of their choices. A “slave through taxation” is still a slave.

I don’t agree with him anymore than I do you. I can say though that he isn’t hiding behind a mask like you and I can also mail him my thoughts unlike you, Mr. 9% .

You need a better reference. I don’t trust anything Fox News has to say.
